The art of the ‘paseo’

Reportedly, there are over 230 sites across 21 districts illuminated in a dazzling display of creativity and sustainability.

It turns out that thanks to the use of LED bulbs, the lights are not only breathtaking but also environmentally friendly, ensuring a greener holiday season.

But perhaps most importantly, a visitor to Madrid during this time has a chance to see close-up – and savor — the festive vibes and quintessentially Spanish traits of the festivities. Socializing is a big part of the Spanish culture.

The beloved custom of “paseo” – a leisurely evening stroll through the streets with friends and family – is on full display during Christmas time.

If you happen to be in Benalmadena on Spain’s southern coast of the Costa del Sol, making a trip to Madrid is easy and convenient. From Malaga, a high-speed train will take you to Madrid’s center in about 2 hours and 40 minutes. The Malaga train station meanwhile, is only a 30-minute drive or train ride from Benalmadena. It’s one of the reasons why Benalmadena boasts one of the most advantageous locations on the Costa del Sol.
